There are few places on Earth as beautiful as the Salish Sea, and that natural beauty is one of the reasons I chose this remarkable region for scattering ashes at sea.

 

The Strait of Georgia, Puget Sound, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca form the three major bodies of water within the Salish Sea, a name that honors the Coast Salish peoples who have lived throughout this region for thousands of years.

 

The Strait of Georgia lies between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia and is part of an interconnected system of waterways that ultimately meets the Pacific Ocean through the Strait of Juan de Fuca. With its sweeping views, islands, mountains, and protected coastal waters, the Salish Sea provides a peaceful and meaningful setting for a final resting place.
